Those of you who know me in real life (and I am guessing that is everyone that is reading this [Hi Mom]) may or may not know that I am faciniated by city walls. Whenever I go to a city that has them, I always seek them out. Here is a shot of the old city wall for Granada going up a hill in the distance. And here is a shot of the walls close up. Here we were going on the 'wall walk' which went between the inner and outer walls for a while. Here is the interior of Alcazaba, the fortress. Here is a closeup of the decorations on Charles V's palace. And here is the facade of Charles V's palace. I'll post some more large pics when I get home in a couple of days.

Here are some pictures of Alhambra. Words really can't do it justice, so I am just going to let the pictures speak for themselves. This is the facade of the Alcazaba, which is the actual fortress part of the complex.

The first day in Granada we walked around the Albacin district, which is the old Arabic quarter below Alhambra. Here is a wondow with some nice flowers. We stopped at this bar for a couple of drinks. The nice thing about Granada, and Andalucia in general, I think, is that they continue the tradation of giving you a free tapas with every drink. Pretty cool. There was a very cool spice store behind the cathedral. We had a great lunch, at which I had some delicious bull's tails. Yummy! Here is a general view of what the streets in Albacin look like. Bery atmospheric and cool. Today we saw Alhambra, which was amazing. I'll post pics of that when we get back from dinner.
